Job Description

Product Manager – SaaS  Platform
6 Month Contract
Location: Remote – UK
Rate: £600 - £650 per day (INSIDE IR35)

Key skills: Product Management, SaaS, Platform Modernisation, 0–1 Delivery, Agile, UX, Cloud Platforms

We are recruiting an experienced Product Manager to support the major redesign and redevelopment of a long-established governance software product.

The existing platform has been in use for more than 25 years and is now undergoing a significant refresh and reimagining. This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role responsible for helping turn an established product into a modern, intuitive and scalable cloud-based solution.

The successful candidate will work closely with engineering, product design and user research teams to define requirements, prioritise delivery and guide the product through a substantial period of change.

This is primarily an execution and product-delivery role rather than a go-to-market position.

The role is remote within the UK, although candidates should ideally be available to attend an initial team kick-off in London.

The Role

As Product Manager, you will:

  • Help shape and deliver the redevelopment of an established governance software product
  • Develop a detailed understanding of customer needs, pain points and existing product limitations
  • Translate product strategy into clear, actionable requirements for engineering and design teams
  • Define, refine and prioritise the product roadmap
  • Take a hands-on approach to backlog management and product delivery
  • Work closely with engineering teams to assess technical options, dependencies and trade-offs
  • Collaborate with product designers and user researchers to create intuitive, user-centred experiences
  • Manage the product development lifecycle from discovery and concept through to delivery and release
  • Use customer research, data and analytics to inform product decisions
  • Ensure requirements are clear, outcome-focused and technically achievable
  • Support effective Agile delivery using Scrum, Kanban or similar methodologies
  • Maintain clear product documentation and promote strong knowledge sharing
  • Communicate product priorities, decisions and progress to stakeholders at all levels
  • Balance customer requirements, regulatory considerations, technical feasibility and business objectives

About You

You will bring:

  • At least five years of product management experience within a software, SaaS or product-led organisation
  • Experience delivering new products, major product rebuilds or significant platform modernisation programmes
  • Strong hands-on product delivery experience
  • Experience working closely with engineering, design and user research teams
  • The confidence to question technical solutions and engage credibly with engineers
  • Experience defining clear product requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Strong prioritisation skills and the ability to manage competing demands
  • Experience using customer research, iteration and analytics to guide decisions
  • Strong knowledge of Agile product development
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • The ability to solve complex product, customer and technical challenges
  • A customer-focused and outcome-led approach

Desirable Experience

Experience in any of the following would be particularly valuable:

  • Delivering products in regulated industries
  • Public sector or government technology
  • Governance, committee management or meeting-management software
  • 0–1 product development
  • Replacing or reimagining legacy software platforms
  • Cloud-based products and SaaS platforms
  • UX design principles and human-centred design
  • Working with geographically distributed teams
  • Market research and competitive analysis
