Job Description

Senior Product Manager
6 Month Contract
Location: Home / London
Rate: £650 - £700 (Inside IR35)

We are looking to recruit a Senior Product Manager on an initial 6 month contract for a leading software company.

This is a remote role however there will be an expectation to make yourself available for meetings in London at short notice.

You will take ownership of a single product, executing an agreed roadmap while driving a major programme of defect resolution. The product has a high level of outstanding defects and limited documentation, so you’ll need the confidence and seniority to challenge assumptions, push back on demands and prioritise effectively.

Success in this role will rely on your ability to navigate complex stakeholder conversations—often at C-suite level—managing expectations and defending decisions with evidence and authority.

This is not a hands-on technical role, and you will be supported by technical product resources. Your focus is strategy execution, prioritisation, and leading the product direction.

What you’ll do

  • Lead the execution of the product roadmap
  • Prioritise a high volume of competing defect and feature requests
  • Work closely with engineering and product teams to deliver releases
  • Manage difficult stakeholder conversations, including senior internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide clear rationale and defend product decisions at executive level
  • Improve structure, documentation and product decision processes
  • Bring leadership, confidence and presence to a challenging product environment

About you

  • Extensive experience as a Senior Product Manager (10+ yrs)
  • Strong experience delivering complex software products
  • Confident dealing with executive-level stakeholders
  • Able to handle pressure, challenge decisions and influence direction
  • Comfortable taking ownership in a legacy, under-documented environment
  • Proven ability to deliver in organisations with multiple competing priorities
  • Experience in SaaS or product-led businesses
  • Gravitas and credibility when representing product decisions

Nice to have

  • Local government or social housing product experience
  • Experience leading geographically-distributed teams
  • Understanding of SaaS environments
  • Familiarity with UX or user-centred design approaches
