Our client – a leading global software company - are seeking an experienced and dynamic leader to join the CRO’s Leadership Team as Global Head of Sales Strategy. You will be responsible for setting up the Sales Strategy function. You will be working with the CRO to deliver the GTM strategy and transformation, you will be leading annual sales planning, driving commercial excellence, running the operational cadence of the business, and overseeing strategic projects. You will be building and developing a team of Sales Strategy Business Partners who will work with the Executive Leadership of each of our business verticals – Local Government, Healthcare, Education and Central Government, and in close collaboration with leaders in Sales, Finance, Marketing, Product Marketing, Enablement, Recruitment and Business Improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Partner with the CRO and members of the CRO leadership team to create, refine and deliver the GTM strategy  
  • Be responsible for GTM sales planning including resource alignment, carving, territory planning and quota setting
  • Run the operational cadence of the GTM organisation including forecasting, pipeline management, demand planning and deal reviews across the business
  • Drive strategic projects to support the GTM transformation
  • Build and develop a team of Sales Strategy business partners to drive the strategy, planning and operational cadence and to deliver strategic projects in each of the verticals
  • Partner closely with the Executive leadership as well as across members of the Sales, Finance, Marketing, Product Marketing, Enablement and Recruitment team to find solutions to business problems

 

Requirements:

 

  • Significant experience as a Leader of Sales strategy/ sales ops/ strategy ideally in a software context
  • Proven track record of delivering tangible business results working in partnership with CXOs
  • Exceptional strategic thinking skills combined with excellent problem-solving and analytical ability
  • Commercial acumen and experience of operating in an environment of commercial accountability
  • Excellent communication skills, and the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Experience of building and developing high performing teams, providing leadership in an environment of ambiguity
  • Management consulting experience is a plus
