Technical Product Manager

9-month contract

£540 per day inside IR35

Fully remote

As a Technical Product Manager, you will be responsible for equipping your team with clear and detailed technical requirements, enabling the delivery of high-quality products that align with product roadmaps and the organisation’s strategic goals.

You will work cross-functionally to translate complex business problems into simple, effective user stories, ensuring outcomes are aligned with the company’s mission and vision.

This role requires a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and hands-on execution of product delivery through backlog management, stakeholder collaboration, and a deep focus on customer and outcome-driven requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure solutions are technically feasible, scalable, and maintainable, while meeting quality standards.
  • Manage and refine product backlogs, writing clear user stories with precise acceptance criteria.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives) to ensure alignment on product priorities.
  • Triage and resolve product-related issues, working closely with engineering to address bugs and managing stakeholder expectations.
  • Identify risks early and implement mitigation strategies to enable successful product delivery.
  • Partner with the Product Manager to make trade-off decisions when faced with conflicting priorities or constraints.
  • Work closely with stakeholders across engineering, design, marketing, commercial, and customer success to drive product development.
  • Analyse data and metrics to inform product decisions, measure performance, and identify improvements.
  • Promote a culture of knowledge sharing, product documentation, and continuous learning.

Essential

  • Proven experience as a Technical Product Manager in a modern software/product organisation.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage backlogs and write user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
  • Strong technical background with experience in software development.
  • Ability to participate in technical discussions, architecture decisions, and code reviews.
  • Proficient in Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Lean).
  • Skilled in analysing data and using insights to inform product strategy.
  • Strong problem-solving, prioritisation, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, marketing, sales, and customer success.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing business priorities and customer needs.

Desirable

  • Understanding of programming concepts (data structures, algorithms, design patterns).
  • Knowledge of system architecture, scalability, and performance optimisation.
  • Experience leading geographically distributed teams.
  • Exposure to cloud technologies (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS) and platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Familiarity with UX design principles and human-centred design methodologies.
  • Experience in market research, competitive analysis, and market trend analysis.
  • Proven track record of launching successful products.
