Senior Solutions Architect

We are looking to recruit a Senior Solutions Architect for a global technology company. You will work at the forefront of cloud-native data platforms, engaging directly with high-profile defence and secure government clients to solve complex technical challenges.

The role will suit someone with strong technical expertise, excellent customer engagement skills, and a deep understanding of the UK Ministry of Defence landscape. Experience working in, with, or alongside MOD organisations is essential — as is current security clearance (SC or DV).

The Role:

As a Senior Solutions Architect, you’ll work closely with technical and commercial teams to design scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions for mission-critical applications. You’ll act as a trusted technical advisor to defence and secure government customers, guiding them through modernisation, digital transformation, and adoption of cloud-native technologies.

This role combines technical leadership with pre-sales engagement — from discovery and solution design to demos, proof of value, and stakeholder management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Partner with account teams to understand customer goals and define solution strategies
• Architect secure, scalable systems across on-prem and cloud environments
• Deliver demos, presentations, and proof-of-concepts tailored to defence customers
• Act as a subject matter expert across data platforms, integration, and cloud architectures
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to provide field insights
• Stay current on industry trends including AI/ML, data engineering, and cloud services

Key Requirements:

• Current SC or DV clearance (essential)
• Proven experience working with or within the UK Ministry of Defence
• Strong background in architecture, software engineering, or technical consulting
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Proficiency in modern programming or scripting languages (e.g. Java, Python, Node.js)
• Experience with scalable, distributed systems and modern application architectures
• Excellent stakeholder communication and presentation skills
• A passion for solving complex problems and guiding customers through change

Desirable:

• Prior experience in pre-sales or customer-facing architecture roles
• Experience with database platforms or data-centric solution design
• Familiarity with DevOps, containerisation, and CI/CD practices
• Certifications in cloud platforms or data technologies
