The Role

We are seeking an Enterprise Architect to join our growing consulting team and lead the way in shaping our consulting strategy for Central Government clients. In this pivotal role, you will design and establish enterprise-level business and technical architectures, as well as the governance frameworks to support them.

Leveraging your architectural expertise, you will:

• Deliver value-driven solutions: Define visions, strategies, roadmaps, and target-state architectures aligned to our clients' business goals.
• Own the full solution lifecycle: Lead the introduction and rollout of tailored business and technical enablers, overseeing every phase from ideation to delivery.
• Drive impactful transformation: Develop governance models and operational frameworks that ensure long-term success for our clients.

Job Responsibilities 

• Develop and implement enterprise architecture strategies to align business processes, technology, and organizational goals.
• Lead the design and execution of business architecture frameworks and solutions to address client challenges.
• Establish and enforce enterprise architecture governance processes to ensure compliance with internal and external policies and regulations.
• Develop and maintain a multi-year technology roadmap aligned with business strategy and priorities.
• Utilize Target Operating Model (TOM) expertise to drive efficiency and scalability in client operations.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define and deliver innovative solutions that create measurable business value.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of architecture strategies into transformation programs.
• Provide thought leadership and best practices in technical, business and enterprise level architecture.

Skills Required 

• Proven experience in business architecture and enterprise architecture within a consulting environment.
• Must currently or previously have worked in a consultancy organization with a focus on delivering enterprise-level solutions.
• Experience working with Central Government clients and GDS standards.
• Strong knowledge of frameworks such as TOGAF, business capability modelling, and enterprise integration strategies.
• Demonstrated ability to design and implement Target Operating Models.
• Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing enterprise processes driving enabling effective governance and control.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships across all levels.
• Experience in various architectural domains: business, application, data, and technology.
• Proficiency in architectural modeling tools (e.g., ArchiMate, Sparx, or similar).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and integration technologies (APIs, SOA, microservices).
• A growth mindset, adaptability, and a passion for delivering high-impact results.
• Experience in working for a highly regulated environment and/or an industry regulator (preferred).

Security Clearance Requirements

The successful candidate must be eligible to go through a SC level security clearance.  

Location

The role will be required to work at customer sites around the UK and occasional attendance at our company offices in Horsham.

The Role

As a Cloud Architect, you will have a pivotal role in consolidating our consulting, engineering and product offerings through state-of-the-art hosting solutions under effective and tailored services to our clients.

Sitting in our consulting division, you will be expected to design and own hosting, application, data and infrastructure solutions across cloud (sole and multi-vendor), on-prem and hybrid landscapes.

In addition to the design and ownership of solutions, the successful candidate will be expected to lead the design and introduction of the solutions as services tailored to the needs and challenges of our customers and thus become responsible for the lifecycle of the solutions, from an inception and ideation phase to its transition and delivery of responsive and effective services.

Job Responsibilities 

• Provide direction, advice and support to organizational change, process and controls change management, and technology development teams during the design and build of solutions and services.
• Lead the development of service architectures for ne and existing projects, ensuring alignment with company objectives and client needs.
• Analyse and gather requirements, translating them into scalable hosting and service solutions.
• Define and document service delivery frameworks, ensuring that operational models are robust and adaptable to change.
• Work closely with project managers, technical teams, and other stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of the proposed service architectures.
• Provide technical leadership in solution reviews and ensure designs meet client and regulatory standards.
• Contribute to the design and development of cross-cutting managed services within Envitia and our client pool.
• Carry out horizon scanning to identify emerging technology and industry trends and assess their potential impact and opportunity to become Envitia offerings to the market.
• Become an active contributor to Envitia’s architecture policies and standards and ensure all solutions meet our architecture policies and standards.
• Develop cost models, risk assessments, and business cases for proposed solutions.
• Ensure solution, hosting and service architectures are subject to robust cost and effort estimation, covering design, development, transition, operation, maintenance and exit costs.

Skills Required 

Cloud & Hosting Architecture

• Solid cloud knowledge in both Azure and AWS environments.
• Strong experience of defining and designing on-prem, hybrid, single cloud and multi-cloud architectures.
• Strong experience in selecting and costing applications on cloud environments.
• Strong demonstrable experience in implementing IaaS, PaaS and SaaS services and solutions.
• Solid experience in distributed architecture, integrating Azure and AWS native applications with COTS applications.
• Exposure to a range of modern architectures including data streaming, real-time processing, distributed computing, cloud computing, visualisation, analytics, machine learning and data lakehouses.
• Experience in defining, delivering and transitioning processes and controls to manage and run services.

Core Skills

• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.
• Proven experience in leading major transformation projects.
• Experience at Presenting to Technical Design Authority forums to secure approval from relevant stakeholders, including colleagues from business, operations, and IT
• Experience in leading solution development in pre-sales activities, including developing proposals and delivering client presentations.
• Large experience with Defence or Central Government clients.

Security Clearance Requirements

The successful candidate must be eligible to go through a SC level security clearance.  

Location

The role will be required onsite in our Horsham offices up to 1 day a week and travel to client sites when required.

The Role

Join our dynamic consulting division as a Data & Solution Architect, where you'll take a pivotal role in designing and delivering cutting-edge data-oriented solutions tailored to our clients' needs in the Defence and Government sectors

As a Data & Solution Architect, you will play a central role in delivering innovative, data-driven solutions to our clients by leveraging both our internal product suite and leading industry frameworks.

Sitting within our consulting division, you will own solution design and delivery while also shaping Envitia’s technical capabilities. You will drive the development of internal intellectual property, ranging from robust frameworks and methodologies to dynamic concept demonstrators, helping to position Envitia as a leader in the data solutions space.

In addition to delivery responsibilities, you will support pre-sales activities by owning the technical solutioning process, defining approaches, and estimating associated costs and effort. You will also act as a public-facing advocate for Envitia, maintaining a strong presence at industry events and conferences, where you’ll showcase advancements in our products and share thought leadership. 

Job Responsibilities 

• Provide direction, advice and support to organizational data change, though the creation of data strategies and advisory artefacts.
• Lead the development of data governance frameworks and organisational data functions to manage and govern the state of data.
• Lead and own the full delivery cycle for modern data architectures across a spectrum of commercially technologies frameworks and hosting platforms.
• Analyse and gather requirements, translating them into effective and tailored solutions.
• Work closely with project managers, technical teams, and other stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of the proposed data architectures.
• Provide technical leadership in solution reviews and ensure designs meet client and regulatory standards.
• Contribute to the design and development of cross-cutting managed services within Envitia and our client pool.
• Carry out horizon scanning to identify emerging technology and industry trends and assess their potential impact and opportunity to become Envitia offerings to the market.
• Become an active contributor to Envitia’s architecture policies and standards and ensure all solutions meet our architecture policies and standards.
• Develop cost models, risk assessments, and business cases for proposed solutions.
• Ensure solution and data architectures are subject to robust cost and effort estimation, covering design, development, transition, operation, maintenance and exit costs.
• Guide, mentor and coach junior members of the team

Skills Required 

Data Architecture

• Strong technical design expertise in core data architecture disciplines including data modelling, data analysis, metadata management, data transformation, data migration and master data.
• Experience in establishing analytics and AI solutions.
• Good working knowledge of ontologies and taxonomies.
• Good working experience of AWS (e.g. S3, Kinesis, Glue, Redshift, Lambda and EMR) and/or Azure data services (e.g. ADF, Synapse, Fabric, Azure Functions).
• Data quality/validation experience: designing metrics and KPIs to verify and automate management of data quality.
• Working experience in Data Lakehouse environments such as Databricks, Snowflake and/or Microsoft Fabric would be an advantage. 

• Experience in different technology stacks, including common legacy and modern stacks
• Solid experience in distributed architecture, integrating Azure and AWS native applications with COTS applications.

Solution Architecture

• Good understanding of Enterprise Architecture frameworks and tools including TOGAF, Zachman or ArchiMate. 
• Experience in requirement elicitation and management across functional and non-functional business requirements and follow-on translation into solution designs.
• Demonstrable experience in major cloud vendors. 
• Hands-on experience with event-driven architectures, microservices, integration and containerisation technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience in different technology stacks, including common legacy and modern stacks
• Solid experience in distributed architecture, integrating Azure and AWS native applications with COTS applications.
