Skills: Technical Product Ownership, Agile, User Stories, Backlog Management, Stakeholder Management, SaaS

We’re working with a leading software organisation looking to appoint a Product Owner to play a key role in the delivery of modern, high-quality digital products.

This role sits at the heart of the engineering team, partnering closely with a Product Manager who owns the strategy and roadmap. You’ll take ownership of execution — translating that roadmap into clear, deliverable outcomes and ensuring the team is set up to succeed.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for breaking down product roadmaps into actionable epics and user stories, managing the product backlog and working closely with engineers on a day-to-day basis to deliver value.

This is a hands-on role, embedded within the development team — ideal for someone who enjoys working closely with engineers and driving delivery in a fast-paced, agile environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate product roadmap into epics, user stories and detailed requirements
  • Own and manage the product backlog, ensuring priorities are clear and aligned
  • Work closely with engineering teams to plan, deliver and iterate on features
  • Participate in agile ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives)
  • Track delivery progress, provide clear updates and surface risks early
  • Remove blockers and ensure the team remains focused and productive
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to balance priorities
  • Make informed trade-offs to maximise value delivery

About You

  • Experience working as a Product Owner or in a similar delivery-focused role
  • Strong experience working closely with software engineering teams
  • Proven ability to break down complex problems into clear, actionable requirements
  • Comfortable working in agile environments (Scrum / Kanban)
  • Detail-oriented, organised and able to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Able to work effectively in environments with ambiguity and changing priorities

Desirable Experience

  • Background in a software or product-led organisation
  • Experience working with tools such as GitHub, Jira or similar
  • Understanding of software development processes and technical concepts
