Location: Home Based – with travel to client sites

We are looking to recruit a Senior Data Management Consultant for a leading IT & Data Consultancy. The Consultant will lead complex, mission-critical data programmes. You will partner with senior stakeholders, define strategy, implement governance, and deliver measurable improvements in data quality, compliance, lineage, and time-to-insight, while working within secure, regulated environments.

This is a hybrid role and although primarily home based you will be required to work on customer site when required

What you’ll do

  • Lead end-to-end data management programmes from discovery and strategy through to implementation.
  • Advise senior stakeholders on data strategy, governance, operating models, and controls.
  • Define and implement data quality, metadata, lineage, classification, and master/reference data frameworks.
  • Translate strategy into executable roadmaps with clear outcomes and benefits.
  • Lead multi-disciplinary teams, coach consultants and analysts, and ensure delivery quality.
  • Manage projects with budgets, risks, dependencies, and multi-vendor delivery.
  • Support adoption and change initiatives, building sustainable capability across client organisations.

What you’ll bring

  • Proven leadership of data management programmes in large or regulated environments.
  • Expertise in data governance, quality, metadata, lineage, and master data management.
  • Strong project management skills, including planning, risk management, and benefits tracking.
  • Consulting experience: stakeholder engagement, executive communication, workshops, and business case development.
  • Security-aware delivery in regulated or classified environments.
  • Active SC clearance and ability to travel to UK client sites.

Desirable

  • Experience in UK Central Government, Defence, or other regulated/public sector environments.
  • Familiarity with DAMA-DMBOK, EDM Council DCAM, or similar frameworks.
  • Exposure to tools such as Microsoft Purview, Azure Data platforms, SQL Server, Power BI, Collibra, Alation, Informatica MDM, Semarchy or Reltio.
