Job Description

Head of People
Permanent
Location: London
Salary: £60,000 - £65,000 (+ 10% bonus)

We are looking to recruit a Head of People for a leading UK e-commerce and technology brand. The Head of People will lead all HR and Talent activity across the organisation — shaping the People strategy, driving employee engagement, and ensuring a first-class employee experience across multiple locations.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a tangible impact in a dynamic, creative and high-growth business that values innovation, collaboration, and fun.

This is primarily an office based role in modern offices in Central London with 1 day a week working from home.

Key Responsibilities

  • Employee Relations: Lead on all ER activity, providing expert guidance to the leadership team, managers and employees.
  • Talent: Own the talent strategy — overseeing workforce planning, budget management, and direct recruitment initiatives.
  • Learning & Development: Deliver management and staff training, identifying learning needs and engaging external providers where appropriate.
  • Policies & Procedures: Create, review and implement HR policies and procedures to ensure best practice and compliance.
  • Onboarding & Payroll: Oversee onboarding and payroll processes, working closely with Finance and external payroll partners.
  • Stakeholder Management: Partner with senior leaders and regional managers to deliver a proactive and high-quality HR service.
  • Benefits & Reward: Ensure the company’s benefits and reward offering remains competitive and relevant.
  • Employment Law: Keep up to date with employment legislation and ensure compliance across the business.

About You

You’re a confident, engaging and proactive HR professional, currently operating as a Head of People or ready to step up from a Senior People Manager position. You’re CIPD qualified (Level 5 or above) with at least 3 years’ leadership experience in a fast-moving HR environment — ideally within e-commerce, retail or tech.

You’ll bring:

  • A collaborative leadership style and a passion for developing others.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Experience leading HR teams across remote and distributed workforces.
  • A commercial mindset with a genuine passion for people, culture and growth.
