Automation Tester
6 Month Contract
Location: Home / Newport Pagnell (2 days a week onsite)
Rate: £300 per day (Inside IR35)

We’re looking to recruit an Automation Tester on an initial 6 month contract for a leading organisation based in Newport Pagnell. You’ll work closely with Developers, Business Analysts, Project Managers and End Users to ensure the delivery of high-quality, reliable software systems.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll take ownership of automated and manual testing activities, ensuring quality across web applications and performance-critical systems.

This is a hybrid role and you will be required to work 2 days a week onsite in Newport Pagnell.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute automated and manual test scripts across a range of interactive, data-driven websites.
  • Gather requirements, create detailed test plans and ensure compliance with defined standards and UAT/ISO processes.
  • Conduct performance, stress and load testing using tools such as JMeter.
  • Contribute to continuous integration and delivery pipelines using Git and CI tools.
  • Create and maintain high-quality test documentation throughout the test lifecycle.
  • Collaborate closely with developers to identify, report and resolve issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Follow recognised web standards for security, resilience and performance.

Key Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years’ experience in systems testing (manual and automation).
  • 2+ years’ experience in performance, stress and load testing (using JMeter or similar).
  • Strong automation experience using Java / JavaScript with Selenium or Webdriver.IO.
  • Experience with Cucumber BDD frameworks.
  • Good SQL skills, including creating and managing tables.
  • Experience testing interactive, data-driven websites.
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps for project and test management.
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong team player.
