Azure Integration Architect
6 Month Contract
Location: UK – Fully Remote
Rate: £600 - £650 per day (OUTSIDE IR35)

We are working with a leading technology consultancy who require an experienced Azure Integration Architect to support a greenfield ERP integration project.

The role will focus on redesigning legacy SQL-based integrations into a modern Azure Integration Services architecture. You will lead the design and documentation of a scalable, event-driven integration solution using technologies such as Azure Service Bus, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, API Management, Key Vault and App Configuration.

This is not a purely advisory role. We are looking for someone who can own the architecture, produce clear design documentation, communicate decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders, and also contribute hands-on during the build phase.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead the design of enterprise integration solutions using Azure Integration Services
• Redesign legacy SQL-based integrations into a modern Azure architecture
• Evaluate and recommend appropriate integration patterns, including messaging, event-driven, API-based and file-based approaches
• Produce clear architecture documentation, including solution overviews, data flow diagrams, component descriptions and decision rationale
• Create design artefacts and architecture decision records that can be maintained by the internal team
• Work closely with technical teams to support the build and deployment of Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Service Bus and API Management solutions
• Support design reviews, documentation checkpoints and stakeholder discussions
• Help upskill the internal team through collaborative delivery

Essential experience:

• Strong Azure Integration Services architecture experience
• Hands-on knowledge of Azure Service Bus, Azure Functions, Logic Apps and API Management
• Previous ERP integration experience, ideally Unit4 ERP / Agresso or a similar enterprise business system
• Experience designing event-driven, messaging-based and API-led integration solutions
• Experience with environment-segregated architecture across dev, test and production
• Knowledge of Key Vault, App Configuration, managed identities and Azure IAM patterns
• Ability to produce professional architecture documentation and present design decisions clearly
• Practical build experience, not just high-level architecture
• Familiarity with CI/CD for Azure integration services, ideally Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions

Desirable experience:

• Unit4 ERP integration experience
• Microsoft certifications such as AZ-204, AZ-305 or equivalent
• Experience working in consultancy or project-based delivery environments

This role would suit an Azure Integration Architect, Integration Solutions Architect or hands-on Azure Technical Architect who has delivered ERP integration projects and is comfortable combining design leadership with practical delivery.
