Job description – Bid Writer

Main Purpose of the Job:
The Bid Writer is responsible for writing strong tender submissions, which result in successful
outcomes. You will help ensure the Rehability family of companies retain all existing contracts
and win new business, in line with organisational strategic plans and targets for growth.
The Bid Writer works collaboratively with a variety of internal stakeholders, using exceptional
writing and interpersonal skills to capture and convey Rehability’s expertise and approach to
delivering services across a variety of areas.
The successful candidate will be comfortable working at pace, with strong time-management
skills, a keen eye for detail and able to confidently interpret and present a range of information.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES OF THE POST
• Write and coordinate high quality tender submissions that demonstrate Rehability’s ability
to deliver services for current and future business opportunities within our areas of
operation, including care and support for adults with learning disabilities and / or autism,
mental health needs, forensic services, complex physical health needs
• Collaborate effectively and efficiently with Operational and Central teams, to ensure
Rehability’s service offer is clearly, consistently, and effectively articulated, working at
pace to ensure external deadlines are met
• Identify and address all specification and evaluation requirements within bid submissions
• Work with a variety of data types, using analytical skills to digest, interpret and present a
range of information, supporting persuasive tender submissions
• Complete pre qualifying questionnaires and manage information through relevant tender
portals
• Draw upon local knowledge, research, evidence, and data to ensure tender responses are
effectively tailored to commissioner and local needs
• Work effectively with colleagues to support the development of service models, budgets
and pricing schedules
• Ensure progress towards each submission’s deadline date is planned and tracked
• Deliver successful outcomes from submissions
• Work alongside colleagues to create and maintain efficient systems, including maintaining
a resource library of information, stock answers and best-practice resources to support
tender submissions
• Work as part of a project team on larger scale, complex submissions to support one
another to research, scope out, write and review high quality responses
• Review and evaluate the success of submissions, ensuring continuous improvement
• Ensure a consistent voice is used across Rehability’s tenders, aligning with internal and
external communications.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Qualifications and Experience:
• Educated to degree level or equivalent (desirable)
• A proven track record of high-quality bid writing, with clear evidence of highly successful
outcomes (70% success rate minimum) or evidence of exceptional writing ability
• Previous experience in a bid writing or equivalent/similar role
• Knowledge of one or more of the following sector areas: health and social care (essential)
temporary and emergency accommodation, housing, young people’s and children’s
services (desirable).

• Strong proof-reading and editing skills, with an exceptional eye for accuracy and attention
to detail, including ensuring responses adhere to word limits
• Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines while
maintaining a high standard of quality
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to foster positive
collaborative relationships both externally and internally.
• Ability to digest, interpret and present a range of information, including key data sets

• Strong Microsoft Office skills and IT Literacy.
