Niche RMS Test Lead - Police Systems Implementation
6 Month Contract
Location: UK – Remote
Rate: £550 - £650 per day (OUTSIDE IR35)

We are seeking an experienced Niche RMS Test Lead to support a major records management system implementation within a UK police force.

This is a hands-on testing position requiring previous experience working on a Niche RMS implementation within a policing environment.

The successful candidate will combine strong testing expertise with an understanding of police records management systems, supporting the planning, execution and coordination of testing activities throughout the implementation lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and actively participate in testing activities across the Niche RMS implementation.
  • Develop and execute test plans, test cases and test scripts.
  • Support system, integration, end-to-end and user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Identify, investigate and manage defects, working with technical teams and stakeholders to resolve issues.
  • Work closely with operational policing teams, business analysts, project managers and third-party suppliers.
  • Support testing associated with data migration and system integrations.
  • Coordinate testing progress, maintain documentation and provide regular updates to project stakeholders.
  • Support testing readiness and preparation for system go-live.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Previous hands-on testing experience on a Niche RMS implementation within a UK police force – essential.
  • Strong background in software testing, ideally at Senior Test Analyst, Test Lead or Test Manager level.
  • Experience producing and executing test scripts, managing defects and supporting UAT.
  • Understanding of policing processes and operational records management systems.
  • Experience working on complex system implementations or transformation programmes.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of testing activities.
  • Previous police vetting or security clearance would be advantageous.

This opportunity would suit an experienced Test Lead or hands-on Test Manager who has previously supported a Niche RMS implementation and can contribute directly to testing delivery.
