Permanent | Home-Based UK

Salary: £55,000 – £65,000 + benefits
Clearance: Active SC Clearance required

Skills: Azure, Entra ID, Microsoft 365, Windows Server, Active Directory, PowerShell, Terraform/Bicep

We’re looking to recruit an SC Cleared Azure Cloud Engineer for a leading technology services organisation. This is a hands-on technical role supporting secure enterprise infrastructure across Microsoft Azure, hybrid cloud and on-premise environments.

The role will suit someone with strong Azure and Microsoft infrastructure experience who enjoys resolving technical issues, supporting change activity, improving services, and working closely with project, operations and service desk teams.

This is a home-based role with minimal travel. Due to the nature of the work, active SC Clearance is essential.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting Azure cloud and hybrid infrastructure services across customer and internal environments.
  • Diagnosing and resolving incidents, major incidents, problems and service requests within agreed SLAs.
  • Supporting technical changes in line with change control procedures.
  • Working with project, operations and service desk teams to support service transition and BAU handover.
  • Monitoring platforms, identifying issues and contributing to service improvements.
  • Maintaining technical documentation, support notes and runbooks.
  • Supporting secure, resilient and well-governed cloud platforms.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Azure, particularly IaaS, networking, storage and platform services.
  • Experience with services such as Azure VMs, Entra ID, Conditional Access, Azure Firewall, Application Gateway/WAF, Azure Monitor and Defender for Cloud.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft 365 tenant administration and service integration.
  • Good knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy and IIS.
  • Experience with virtualisation technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
  • Understanding of cloud security, secure configuration, least privilege access and vulnerability remediation.
  • Experience with scripting and automation, particularly PowerShell.
  • Exposure to Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Bicep.
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps, CI/CD concepts, monitoring tools or backup technologies would be advantageous.
  • Active SC Clearance.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Azure-focused engineer to work across secure, enterprise-scale cloud environments, supporting critical platforms while developing further across automation, security and modern cloud operations.
