Juniper Network Engineer

We are recruiting for a Network Engineer to join an established IT infrastructure and networking consultancy, supporting the installation, deployment and maintenance of network infrastructure across a range of customer environments.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with hands-on networking experience who is looking to develop their technical skills and progress their career. The role could particularly suit someone working within a Network Operations Centre (NOC) who is ready to move into a more practical, project-focused engineering position.

You will be working with Juniper networking technologies, supporting the physical installation, configuration and deployment of network equipment across customer sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, rack, cable and configure network switches and associated infrastructure.
• Support the deployment and implementation of Juniper networking equipment.
• Carry out network installations, upgrades and hardware replacements at customer sites.
• Assist with the configuration and troubleshooting of switches, routers and other network devices.
• Support network connectivity testing and fault resolution.
• Work alongside senior network engineers on infrastructure projects and deployments.
• Maintain accurate documentation of network installations and configurations.
• Travel to customer sites as required to complete installation and engineering activities.

Skills & Experience Required

• Previous experience in a Network Engineer, NOC Engineer, Network Support Engineer or similar technical role.
• Hands-on experience with Juniper networking technologies.
• Practical understanding of network switching, routing and connectivity.
• Experience installing, cabling or configuring network equipment.
• Good understanding of core networking concepts including TCP/IP, VLANs, LAN/WAN and network troubleshooting.
• A willingness to undertake physical network installations alongside technical configuration work.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to learning.
• Full UK driving licence.

Desirable Experience

• Experience with Juniper EX or QFX switches.
• Exposure to Juniper SRX firewalls or Juniper Mist.
• Juniper certifications such as JNCIA or JNCIS.
• Experience supporting network infrastructure deployments, refreshes or migrations.
• Previous experience working in customer-facing or multi-site environments.
