Job Title: Service Asset & Configuration Analyst
Job Family: ICT
Role Profile Title: BB2 Police Staff
Reports To: Change and Configuration Manager
Band level: 2P
Staff Responsibilities (direct line management of): Nil
a. OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE: Defines the role, put simply, why it exists.
The overall purpose of the role is to: support the ICT Asset Management lifecycle processes of hardware and software assets.
b. KEY ACCOUNTABILITY AREAS: Define the important aspect of the role for which the job holder is responsible for results or outcomes.
The key result areas in the role are as follows:
1. Record and report on ICT assets, both hardware and software, in accordance with the ITILv3 Asset Management process, accurately capturing and maintaining the data within the Configuration Management Database (CMDB).
2. Under direction, deliver the on-boarding and changes of new ICT assets and ensure integration into the CMDB through the Change Management process.
3. Ensure that the ICT assets, within area of responsibility, are accurately recorded within the CMDB and periodically audited as agreed, and baselined for future reference.
4. Carry out periodic ICT Asset Audits (within areas as directed) within the estate to ensure that all ICT Assets are accurately reflected within the CMDB and any errors or amendments are actioned accordingly (Audits will require the post holder to travel and visit any location hosting or storing ICT Assets).
c. DIMENSIONS: Include matters as key result areas that make the greatest demands on the role holder, seasonal pressures, items processed, the number of customers and/or level of authority to make financial decisions or commit other resources

Has the technical skills or recognised experience within IT Asset Management.
The role holder will work with immediate and or / wider ICT team members to share best practice whilst providing development and performance assistance when required. They will act as a subject matter expert to provide guidance and advice to all TVP staff where necessary.

1. Technical skills in Microsoft Excel, Visio, and data analysis. E
2. Must have capability to travel to different locations across both Forces and undertake all assignments in a timely manner. Due to the requirement to work flexibly, unsocial hours and personal safety for lone working; public transport may not be available or suitable at these times. For this reason a full UK driving licence is considered essential. *

3. Good communications skills with the ability to produce accurate reports that will be used by senior management to make key business decisions.

5. Knowledge of software license procurement and renewal processes. E
6. Preferably experienced in ITIL Asset Management or holds a professional qualification. D
