Salary: £37,000 - £45,000 (+ excellent benefits)

We are looking to recruit a Network Engineer to join a leading public sector organisation. This is a hybrid role and you will be required on site in Cambridge once / twice a week.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to critical systems and infrastructure that support staff, patients, and the wider community. You will play a vital role in providing technical support, ensuring the smooth operation of Unified Communications applications, and driving improvements through strategic projects and service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first-line technical support for Unified Communications services, including telephony, paging, radios, and IT systems.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot network infrastructure, central servers, and backup systems.
  • Contribute to corporate strategies and rollout programs for new technologies.
  • Liaise with service providers to resolve faults and maintain system integrity.
  • Deliver and manage projects, maintaining comprehensive project documentation.
  • Monitor and manage hardware and software performance to proactively address potential issues.

What We’re Looking For

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Relevant experience in managing telephony, paging, or IT systems within a large organisation.
  • Strong understanding of customer service environments and first/second-line service desk operations.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and presenting solutions to complex technical challenges.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Certifications such as CCNA, PRINCE2, or ITIL Foundation.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety, ITIL methodology, or project management frameworks.
